Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya

Day 2:  Amboseli National Park & Mount Kilimanjaro

Then, fly to Amboseli National Park at the base of soaring Mount Kilimanjaro, which at 19,341 feet, is the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Set out in search of the region’s spectacular wildlife. Amboseli’s huge draw is the elephants. Watch as big herds roam the dusty plains, including “tuskers,” large, older bulls who have grown impressive tusks. Also view other game species such as giraffe, Cape buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippo, hyena, and, occasionally, lion — all roaming freely amid swamps, springs, and a shimmering, dried lake bed.

Day 3:  Amboseli National Park & Mountainside Sightings

Set out on a full day exploring wildlife-rich Amboseli National Park, renowned for the large herds of elephants that roam its sun-drenched grasslands. View the elephants up close, and watch for lions and buffalo as well. Enjoy a morning on safari before breaking for lunch. This afternoon, take another game drive.

Day 4: Sanctuary Swala & Tanzania’s Tarangire

Sanctuary Swala is located in a secluded area of Tarangire National Park, one of the most exciting and least visited parks in the country.

The layout of this eco-friendly abode is very open, with resident herds of impala often grazing in camp. Day 5: Experience Exotic Game Drives

Embark on morning and afternoon game drives to explore Tarangire National Park. At Tarangire, find a stunning concentration of animals — herds of elephant, impala, and zebra. Look, too, for a python and the twitching tail of a leopard, who may hide high above in a sausage tree.

Optional activities available at an additional cost include a walking safari and exploring Lake Gursi by canoe during the day or, as dusk falls, a night safari, to search for nocturnal animals rarely seen by visitors.
